Being a very popular prophet, Jesus had no shortage of sympathizers who lined the streets of Jerusalem as He passed their way towards His crucifixion. Amazingly, He told some of those sympathizers not to weep for Him, but to weep for themselves and their children. Why?

When Peter denied knowing Jesus for the third time, Luke tells us that he was within eyeshot of Jesus, who then looked at Peter but said nothing. Even though Peter proved to be a fair-weather friend, the grace of God was still at work.
