Tragically, many within Christendom are professing believers but practicing atheists. That makes them, as one book title declares, Christian atheists. Many will readily admit that, although they are believers in Christ (or so they think), they are not His disciples. Is such a thing possible?

As Jesus sent out the twelve to preach the gospel in Galilee, He knew they wouldn’t always be warmly welcomed. So He prepared them for the inevitable. His instructions to them have application to all of us whom God is sending with His message to the world.

Right around the same time, a baby girl was born and a grown woman started desperately seeking healing. Twelve years later, the little girl was also ill, and the grown woman was at the end of her rope. But on the same day, they both encountered Jesus and experienced miracles.
